Begin in Yangon, where the golden Shwedagon Pagoda looms, then travel to the Historic kingdom of Mandalay, take a leisurely journey down on the Legendary Irrawaddy river to ancient temples of Bagan, and soak up the tranquillity of Inle Lake, this amazing tour will take you through beautiful natural scenery and allow you to experience the rural way of life and cultural traditions of friendly Myanmar people.

Day 1 Arrival & Sightseeing around Yangon

Mingalar bar! you will be welcomed by our Guide at the Airport and transferred to the hotel. Start your Sightseeing of Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon. City tour, with as highlights our visit to the vibrant downtown area with its colonial-era buildings; the massive reclining Buddha at Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda; Kandawgyi Park; the royal floating barge named Karaweik Palace; Bogyoke(Scott) Market and the world-famous golden stupa, Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.

DAY 2 Yangon – Mandalay

Today I left Yangon for the flight to Mandalay, the last royal city of the Myanmar Kingdom. Upon arrival, we will start sightseeing at Amarapura, known as the City of Immortality. First, visit Mahagandayon Monastery which is the best place to experience the daily lives of the monks. After that, we will walk over the U Bein, the longest teakwood Bridge in the world. Our next stop on this day tour is Sagaing, the religious hub of Myanmar and which has over 600 Buddhist monasteries where monks and nuns study and meditate. We will visit pagodas such as Swan Oo Pon Nya Shin and U Min Thone Sae. Stop at the local market, Silverware cottage industry, clay pot making, and Nunnery to learn the daily life of Buddhist nuns. Late this afternoon, return to Mandalay and visit Mahamuni Buddha Image – a bronze Buddha image castled during the lifetime of Buddha himself. Overnight stay in Mandalay.

Day 3 Mandalay & Mingun

This morning we will head to the jetty for a pleasant boat ride upriver to Mingun. Upon arrival, explore the ruins of the vast Mingun Pagoda. Continue to the beautiful Hsinbyume Paya and the Mingun Bell, weighing 87 tons and being the world’s largest intact bronze bell. Sail back to Mandalay and lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery – noted for its exquisite woodcarvings, gold leaf beating workshop, and Kuthodaw Pagoda – known for containing the world’s largest book and conclude the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to watch the sunset and the panoramic view of the city. Overnight stay in Mandalay.

DAY 4 Mandalay to Bagan by Boat

Today we will travel to Bagan by cruise along the legendary river “The Irrawaddy”. This river is the country’s economic lifeblood and inseparable from Burmese spiritual life. In the early morning (5 PM), check out the hotel and transfer to the jetty. The boat leaves Mandalay at 6 PM. Breakfast and Lunch will be served on the board. Along the journey, you will be fascinated to observe the local life on the river, little fishing boats, and home rafts. On the way, you will visit the typical village on the River Bank. The boat trip is smooth and you can sleep on the way, and refill your energy which you will need while you stay in Bagan. Arrive at Nyaung U Jetty in the evening and transfer to the hotel. Stay overnight in Bagan.

Day 5 Sightseeing in Bagan

Today is the comprehensive tour of Bagan – the beautiful ancient city, one of Myanmar’s premier historical and cultural centers, home to more than 2,000 temples and pagodas.! Tour includes shrines such as Ananda, Htilominlo, Thatbyinnyu, Dhammayangyi, Sulamani, and Shwezigon Pagoda, plus secular sights such as Nyaung U market and traditional workshops. Complete the day by watching an unforgettable sunset over the plains from Nyaung Lat Phet Hill. Dinner while enjoying the Puppet Show. Stay overnight in Bagan.

DAY 6 Bagan – Mt Popa - Kalaw

After breakfast, drive to Kalaw. We will stop at Mount Popa, a palm plantation, and in a typical local village. This relaxing break will give you the chance to observe the local working life. Then resuming the journey to Kalaw, Kalaw, an old hill station with a laid-back atmosphere, refreshing climate, and scenic views. Many of Kalaw’s original colonial-era buildings remain, and it is also known as Myanmar’s trekking mecca. This afternoon, explore some of the outlying sights of Kalaw. After visiting Shwe U Min cave which is filled with golden Buddhas, we’ll climb approximately 280 steps to get to Thein Daung Monastery, where we can enjoy panoramic views of the town. Overnight in Kalaw.

DAY 7 Pindaya & Inle Lake

After Breakfast, drive to Pindaya. The road to Pindaya cuts across one of the most densely farmed areas in Myanmar – at first glance, the patchwork of fields and hedges could almost be a landscape from central Europe or middle America. Visit Pindaya Limestone cave, unique for the about nine thousand Buddha images placed there by pilgrims over many centuries. After visiting a small family-run umbrella making workshop and Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery, transfer to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway of Inle Lake. Stay overnight on the Lake.

DAY 8 Boat trip on Inle Lake and visit Indein village

Full-day tour of beautiful Inle Lake which is referred to as the Venice of Asia, featuring stilt houses and villages, floating gardens, fishermen using ancient techniques such as leg-rowing, and, on the shores, workshops of traditional artisans, e.g. weavers and cigar-makers. We will visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, and the local family workshops which feature silversmiths, cheroot making, and weaving by the ‘Ring-neck ladies’. After lunch, continue your exploration to the western banks of the lake and travel down a small canal to Indein – a Pa-Oh village that is known for its stupa-covered hill with 1,054 stupas constructed between the 17th and the 18th centuries. Spend time exploring Indein on foot, strolling around the village, visiting a local school, and making your way to the top of the hill where you can wander amid the weather-beaten stupas and enjoy magnificent views of the lake below. Stay overnight on Inle Lake.

DAY 9 Return to Yangon and Departure

As the time approaches, Transfer to the airport. Fly back to Yangon and connect your departure flight.
